What your sportsbook is really charging you.
Nothing on this page is an opinion or a prediction. It's arithmetic on two numbers you can check yourself: the odds on your book, and the live price on the exchange.
A coin flip is 50/50. Your book prices both sides at 52.4%, so the two sides add up to 104.76% instead of 100%. Win exactly half your bets at -110 and you don't break even — you lose money. That gap is the entire business model, and it's charged on every ticket regardless of whether you win.
The same games, priced as contracts.

Prices are live asks from Kalshi and may be delayed. The spread column is the market's own overround and excludes Kalshi's trading fee, which varies with contract price — so read it as the like-for-like comparison against a book's hold, not your all-in cost. The -110 column is the standard price a book charges on a spread or a pick'em, shown as a fixed reference — it is not a quote from any book on these specific games, and moneylines on heavy favourites are priced differently. Lopsided markets are left off this table for that reason. Both venues settle differently; read the rules before assuming two markets are the same bet.

A fair two-way market adds up to 100%. Yours adds up to 104.76%. That extra 4.76% is the house's margin, and you pay it on every bet — win or lose.
For reference, a standard -110 / -110 line holds 4.55% and needs 52.4% to break even — the fair price behind it is -100 on both sides.
